THE Minnesota Vikings The team announced its full initial 53-man roster Tuesday afternoon ahead of the roster cuts deadline. The team began making moves early Tuesday morning and announced its full roster later that afternoon.
Like most teams, the Vikings used the injured list and the injured list to their advantage this week to keep more players on their roster. Star tight end TJ Hockenson will remain on injured reserve, while veteran running back Dalton Risner and linebacker Jordan Kunazyk were placed on injured reserve. All three players are expected to miss the first four games of the regular season due to injuries. The team also placed undrafted edge rusher Gabriel Murphy out of UCLA on short-term injured reserve with a designation to return.
With the initial roster finalized, here is the complete breakdown of the Minnesota Vikings’ roster positions heading into the season opener. The team will be able to add players to its practice squad once the waiver period opens tomorrow afternoon.
Players with less than four years of experience will go through the waiver process, where teams can claim their contracts and add them to their practice squad or active roster. Veterans with more than four years of NFL experience have had their contracts terminated and are free to sign with any team as a free agent.
