The Indianapolis Colts have begun trimming their roster as they work to get down to 53 players before the deadline on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Also keep in mind the different language used when a player is dismissed. released The player is a veteran, meaning a player who has accumulated four seasons in the NFL. He immediately becomes a free agent.
A renounced The player has not accumulated four seasons and must go through a waiver process. All other teams will have the opportunity to claim waived players on their 53-man roster before 12:00 p.m. ET on August 28.
The Colts are 15th in the waiver order, so half the league will have the chance to potentially claim players they like after being waived.
