Erling Haaland continued his smashing of the Premier League record books with another striking masterclass in Manchester City’s 3-1 win over West Ham.
Fresh from his hat-trick in City’s 4-1 win over Ipswich Town, Haaland scored all of his side’s goals at the London Stadium to walk away with another match ball for his collection.
The Norwegian superstar is chasing a third consecutive Premier League Golden Boot. Despite topping the charts last season, Haaland has often been seen struggling to reach peak fitness and form.
This time, these difficulties seem to be definitively behind him.

“I feel good. I feel full of energy. I had a long holiday and a long pre-season, so I feel good,” Haaland told Sky Sports.
“The years I’ve been here have gone by really quickly – like ‘bam, bam, bam’ – so now I’ve rested my body and my feet a bit. I feel really good now and I’m ready for more.
“Only footballers know how important it is to take a long enough break. In the end, you have to calm your body and mind because it’s a long season and it’s not as easy as you think.”

Who has scored the most hat-tricks in the Premier League?
Haaland’s hat-trick in east London was his 11th in 102 games for City and his eighth in the Premier League.
This puts him ahead of Wayne Rooney in the all-time rankings and level with Harry Kane, Michael Owen and Thierry Henry.
This means that there are only three players who have scored more Premier League hat-tricks than Haaland in the history of the division.
Robbie Fowler is next in his sights with nine goals, the competition’s all-time top scorer Alan Shearer has 11 to his name and Haaland’s predecessor as Etihad Stadium darling Sergio Aguero tops the charts with 12.
Haaland’s best goals tally after three Premier League games was three in each of the last two seasons. He has seven this time around, more than any other Premier League team so far in 2023/24.
A total of 70 goals in 69 English Premier League games suggests that many more records and milestones will be broken.
