CONCACAF qualifying for the 2026 World Cup continues with many teams hoping to secure a spot in the tournament.
With the United States, Mexico and Canada already qualified as host nations, the remaining teams are battling for available spots.
After the excitement of the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup, attention now turns once again to the World Cup qualifying campaign.

How CONCACAF Qualifying for the 2026 World Cup Works
CONCACAF’s qualifying process for the 2026 World Cup consists of three rounds to determine which teams from North and Central America, as well as the Caribbean, will participate in the tournament.
In the first round, the four lowest-ranked teams play in a two-legged playoff for the right to advance to the second round.
The second round is essentially a group stage. The two qualifiers from the first round, as well as the 28 highest-ranked nations in the region (excluding the three host countries), are divided into six groups of five teams. Each nation plays two home games and two away games in these groups. The teams that finish in the top two places in each group advance to the third round.
In the third round, the 12 teams are divided into three groups of four. Each nation will play home-and-away double-pool matches, with the three group winners qualifying for the World Cup. The two best runners-up will participate in the inter-confederation play-off phase to compete for a place in the final alongside nations from the AFC, OFC, CONMEBOL and CAF regions.
