With the Black Ops 6 beta now front and center, we’ve been hard at work putting together a comprehensive tier list ranking every weapon in the game from worst to best.
Another year means another CoD title. Black Ops 6 is the next title coming, with Treyarch once again at the helm. While the full release on October 25 is still a ways off, we’ve already spent hours playing the new game thanks to its early beta access period.
With our experience using every weapon available so far (note that the open beta period is expected to increase the level cap to level 30), we tested each new weapon to see which were the best options. While the favorite may be obvious if you’ve played even a few games, you may be curious to see how the other rankings stack up.
Here is our complete tier list ranking every weapon in the Black Ops 6 Beta version with detailed analyses of the best weapons.
Black Ops 6 Beta Weapon Tier List: All Weapons Ranked
Explaining our rankings
- Level S: At the top of the meta, these are the best weapons in the game today.
- Level A: While they are very good choices on most maps and modes, these weapons are just a notch below the best.
- Level B: Decent weapons but nothing really exceptional.
- Level C: Weapons you should avoid most of the time, unless you’re looking for camos in the full version.
The Best Weapons in the Black Ops 6 Beta
5. LR 7.62 – Best Sniper Rifle
ActivisionThere’s nothing more satisfying than a one-hit kill in CoD.
While rapid fire isn’t what it used to be, a sniper can still be deadly in the right hands. That’s no different here in Black Ops 6, with the LR 7.62 being the standout bolt-action choice.
Sure, precision shooting isn’t for everyone, but if you’re looking to get a one-shot kill, there’s simply no better option than this weapon in the Black Ops 6 beta. Most of your shots, as long as they’re aimed at the upper chest or head, will be guaranteed kills, even at longer ranges.
With the right set of accessories, this bolt-action sniper rifle can only get better. By improving aim speed, lengthening your magazines, and reducing sway, you’ll have a deadly weapon in your hands.
4. AK-74 – Multi-purpose assault rifle
Activision’s Ak-74 is back in the AR slot this year and it’s a force to be reckoned with.
While it’s a slower pick in the AR category, the AK-74’s higher damage makes it one of the best picks in Black Ops 6 today. The goal here is to improve the Gunsmith’s mobility, as well as try to extend its viability to longer ranges.
This year’s AK, returning to the AR category, is deadly in the right situations. You won’t necessarily want to run and gun on every map, but if you’re looking to hold an objective or take out targets from a distance, you won’t find a better assault rifle than this.
3. C9 – Ultra fast TTK
ActivisionThe C9 even has a faster TTK than the Jackal, if you build it directly in the Gunsmith.
While it’s the second-best of the two SMGs currently available in the beta, the C9 still packs a serious punch. As the first SMG unlocked, it’s a good idea to upgrade it early on so you have a full-fledged SMG available when you need it.
With a focus on mobility, you can sprint incredibly fast with the C9 equipped. Paired with this year’s dazzling Omnimovement feature, you can literally run circles around your opponent. On top of that, with an exceptionally fast TTK, the C9 is certainly not an SMG to overlook.
2. AMES 85 – Best Assault Rifle
ActivisionThe AMES-85 AR is the most complete assault rifle in Black Ops 6.
The best assault rifle in Black Ops 6 right now is the AMES 85. While the SMG category excels in close combat, ARs are designed for mid- to long-range combat. This is where the AMES 85 stands above the XM4 and AK-74, giving you the most accuracy and firepower at range.
If you’re looking for a sturdy, straightforward, and generally reliable weapon to take into any lobby, this should be at the top of your list.
1. Jackal PDW – Best Overall Weapon in Black Ops 6
ActivisionThere’s not much competition for the top spot. The Jackal is by far the best weapon in Black Ops 6 right now.
If you played even five minutes of the Black Ops 6 beta, you already knew this was coming. The Jackal SMG established itself as the weapon to beat right from the start. It’s easily the most powerful weapon right now, with an absurd TTK, but it’s made even better by the game’s emphasis on movement.
Sprinting, diving, and sliding are the hallmarks of this year’s CoD. Able to move freely in all directions, you’re more than capable of tricking enemies, breaking their ankles as you attack them. There’s no better weapon to have in hand to do just that than the Jackal PDW.
It quickly became the most widely adopted weapon in the beta, for obvious reasons, so it’s clear that Treyarch will have it in its sights for the first major balance pass. However, no one knows exactly when that will happen at the moment.
Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated here and update our tier list to reflect all the latest balance adjustments as new patches roll out. In the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of our Black Ops 6 coverage to help you get the edge.
