For four seasons, the series has been about Gabriel and another potential boyfriend, Emily in Paris. But now, actor Lucas Bravo thinks it’s time to put those rivalries to rest.

What would Emily in Paris be without a sexy love triangle? For Season 4, the hit series replaced British charmer Alfie with handsome Italian Marcello. As Alfie settles down with a new girlfriend, Marcello shows up to steal Emily’s attention from Gabriel.

Maybe it would be better this way. Even though there is no baby yet, things are getting complicated in Gabriel’s world. His bond with Camille runs deep, and Geneviève, a new employee at the Grateau Agency, also has a crush on him.

As the second half of season 4 comes to a close, Emily is officially settled in Rome and seems in love with Marcello. Upon hearing the news from Paris, Gabriel sets out to find Emily… Does this mean the love triangle is back?

Actor Lucas Bravo says we need to stop choosing sides, regardless of Emily’s choice. Jugo Mobile, he explained: “It’s not about Gabriel. I feel like it’s about who’s best for Emily. Let’s not put them together.” [Gabriel and Marcello] in competition.

“We’ve been Team Alfie and Team Gabriel for three years. Let’s give the teams a break. That’s enough. Let’s just encourage Emily to be happy with the right person.”

Creator Darren Star had similar thoughts about the new TV show and its latest love interest.

“I don’t think you have to categorize boyfriends, but I think he’s different from the others,” he added. “He represents something different in terms of a love interest mixed with a little business relationship on the side.

“I think being Italian he’s different from them anyway. Gabriel is French and Alfie is British – as Mindy says, she stamps his passport.”

Marcello officially arrives in Season 4, Episode 8, after being the anonymous stranger who rescued Emily from the slopes in Episode 6.

But things don’t go as planned when Sylvie reveals her intention to sign Marcello’s company to Agence Grateau after learning that JVMA wants to do the same. All parties come to an agreement… but things still seem difficult as Emily enters a new chapter in her life.

Meanwhile, Gabriel finally gets his Michelin star, avoiding an awkward kiss from Genevieve as she tells him the news. He gets a congratulatory voicemail from Emily, and it all seems a little platonic.

We know that Gabriel intends to find Emily in Rome, but will he succeed?
