Hero talent trees played a major role in the early days of World of Warcraft: The War Within, and things are starting to look very interesting. One such addition is the Warrior Slayer, which offers some impressive additions to the class’s toolbox.
Hero talent trees are a new system that adds depth to the existing talent system in WoW. Like the main tree, hero talents are tied to specializations and have the positive effect of increasing the viability of player choices at all levels.
Each class has access to three hero talent trees. Players can choose between two of them depending on their specialization. The exceptions to this rule are Druids and Demon Hunters, who have four and two, respectively.

All Hero Talent Trees currently follow the same format, with a key talent at the beginning, designed to define the intent of the tree more broadly. Three rows of talents follow, allowing players to choose and customize their builds. The tree culminates with a capstone talent that provides a significant power boost.
Key Ability of the Hero Warrior Killer
Killer Domination: Your attacks have a high chance of overwhelming your target’s defenses and triggering a Killer Strikedealing low damage and applying Marked for executionincreasing the damage they take from your next Execute 10%. Can be combined 3 times.
Warrior Killer Frontline Hero Talents
Imminent death: Sudden death ability to reset cooldown of Execute and make it usable on any target, regardless of health increase.
By using Sudden death speed up your next Blade Stormby hitting 1 additional time (max 3). Blade Storm the total duration remains unchanged.
Crushing Blades: Every stroke of Blade Storm applies Overwhelmed to all affected enemies, increasing damage taken by 1% for 10 seconds.
Developer Note: Fury will have access to Bladestorm via Specialization Talents in The War Within.
Node of choice: Relentless pursuit and vicious agility
- Relentless pursuit: The charge removes all movement-limiting effects and grants you 70% movement speed for 3 seconds.
- Vicious Agility: Heroic leap reduces the cooldown of Charge of 5 seconds, and Charge reduces the cooldown of Heroic leap of 5 seconds.
Warrior Killer Second Tier Hero Talents
Death drive: You heal 50% of the damage dealt by Sudden Death.
Node of choice: Killer reflexes and constant pressure
- Killer Reflexes: The killer’s strikes have a chance to reset the cooldown of Blood thirst And Master.
- Constant pressure: Cooldown of Master reduced by 10% (Weapons). Cooldown of Blood thirst reduced by 10% (Fury).
Node of choice: Tunnel Vision and the Thrill of Murder
- Tunnel vision: Your auto-attack speed increases while in combat. Changing targets resets this effect.
- The thrill of death: Execute increases your auto-attack speed for 10 seconds.
Warrior Killer Third Row Hero Talents
Kill: Marked for execution increases the critical hit chance and critical hit damage of your next Execute on the 5% target.
Frenzied Gust: Master (Weapons) and Blood thirst (Fury) has a chance to cause you to trigger a brief Blade Stormhitting all enemies around you once. You can now use Pummel And Storm Lightning during Bladestorming.
Killer Focus: Master Cooldown reduced by 10% (Weapons). Blood thirst cooldown reduced by 10% (Fury).
Warrior Killer End Hero Talent
Relentless Assault:When you execute a target you have marked for execution, reduce the cooldown of Bladestorm by 5 seconds per stack of Marked for Execution and apply stacks of Overwhelmed equal to the number of stacks of Marked for Execution the target had.
