Kylian Mbappe has issued a rallying call ahead of Real Madrid’s return to La Liga action on October 19.
Los Blancos head to Celta Vigo this weekend followed by a midweek UEFA Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund.
October is rounded off with Mbappe’s first-ever El Clasico showdown as Carlo Ancelotti’s side host arch rivals Barcelona on October 26.
Mbappe has remained in Madrid during the international break, after controversially opting against a call up to the France national side, following a request to be omitted to work on his fitness.
However, the last week has not been without controversy for the 25-year-old with the striker dismissing allegations against him as “fake news” after Swedish police began an investigation into an alleged rape in Stockholm.
A return to action is Mbappe’s main focus, and the former Paris Saint-Germain star has outlined just how crucial the incoming games are, as he looks to maintain his strong form after being named as Real Madrid’s player of the month for September.
“I’m very happy and grateful to the Real Madrid fans and it’s a pleasure to be player of the month. The most important thing is to win matches throughout this month and be able to win this award again”, as per an interview with Real Madrid TV, via Mundo Deportivo.
“We have three very important games coming up and we want to win them. The team and I are ready and I hope we do it for the Real Madrid fans,”
After failing to score in his first three league games at Real Madrid – all coming in August – Mbappe netted six goals in his five games across all competitions in September but he is yet to find the back of the net in October.
