Ruben Amorim takes charge of his first Manchester United home game on Thursday as Bodo/Glimt visit Old Trafford in the UEFA Europa League.

The Portuguese coach oversaw a 1-1 Premier League draw with Ipswich Town last Sunday to begin his tenure as United boss, with the result and performance underlining the lack of confidence and form in his squad.

United have taken six points from their first four Europa League games of this season, one fewer than their Norwegian opponents, so this represents an important game in terms of their hopes of reaching the knockout phase.

For Bodo/Glimt, this is the most significant week of their season, with the trip to the Theatre of Dreams followed by the decisive final matchday of the Eliteserien. Kjetil Knutsen’s team lead the standings heading into the last round.

Amorim could well make some changes to the team that started last Sunday’s draw with Ipswich as he gets to grips with his new squad.

He confirmed that Lisandro Martinez is back following a back problem, but fellow defender Harry Maguire is not yet ready to return.

Luke Shaw and Mason Mount could start after coming on as substitutes at Portman Road. Kobbie Mainoo may also get the nod in midfield after returning to fitness, while Tyrell Malacia will hope at least to be in the matchday squad as he prepares for a long-awaited comeback.

Summer signing Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof are likely to miss out as they work on their fitness levels following a return to training.
