Christian Pulisic has been the best attacking player at AC Milan this season, but that electric form is set to be tested in the coming weeks.

The 26-year-old has scored eight goals and assisted six more this year across 20 matches in all competitions, both best at the club to this point in the 2024/25 season.

He has developed an exciting relationship with fellow Milan star Rafael Leao, and has improved his set-piece delivery amongst other creative abilities.

However, some time off could cool that form, and Pulisic will need to keep his head down and push hard for a speedy recovery to mitigate any risk of losing his head of steam.

The Jugo Mobile brings you the latest information on Pulisic’s injury, recovery, and timeline for return.

Christian Pulisic injury news, updates after calf injury

Subbed off in the 38th minute of AC Milan’s defeat to Atalanta on Saturday, December 7, Christian Pulisic has suffered a torn calf muscle, the club confirmed on Monday.

It will likely leave the U.S. international out for multiple weeks, with the club hoping he can return in early January.

Fears of a longer spell on the sideline were first reported by Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport over the weekend, as they reported Pulisic had suffered a grade one calf strain with an expected recovery time of 2-3 weeks.

When will Christian Pulisic return from calf injury?

Reports, such as one from the Associated Press, claim that Milan are hoping for Pulisic to return for the club’s Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Juventus on January 3, which would give him nearly a month to recover.

His injury is timed well, as Milan have a soft fixture list across December. If that timeline holds, Pulisic would miss a home Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade this week along with ensuing league fixtures against Genoa, Hellas Verona, and Roma.

The American will almost certainly not be in danger of missing any USMNT fixtures with the injury.

The U.S. men don’t play a competitive match until March when they face off against Panama in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinals.

Mauricio Pochettino will lead his side in a friendly against Venezuela in January, but that match does not take place during an official FIFA international window and therefore does not feature a full-strength roster.

Pulisic, or any of the other regulars playing club soccer in Europe, would not have taken part in that camp even if healthy.
