The Formula 1 World Championship trophy is getting a special Louis Vuitton twist this year.

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the FIA Formula 1 World Championship trophy was presented Tuesday in its bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk as part of their season launch at their sport’s F1 75 event at The O2 in London, where, for the first time ever, all ten teams, their drivers, and Team Principals will come together with fans to unveil their 2025 liveries.

The collaboration is part of the official partnership between Formula 1 and Louis Vuitton, where the trophy trunk will be awarded to the best driver of the season at the end of the year. Crafted at the House’s historic atelier in France, the trunk features two folding front panels that are hand painted with a V – both for “Victory” and “Vuitton” – in the emblematic black and white Damier. The exterior is finished with leather trim and the same brass corner protectors, lock and clasps that have been used on Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1860s.

This workshop is where the first automotive trunks were designed under Georges Vuitton, the son of Louis Vuitton, in 1897, and over the past 125 years, the brand has remained closely associated with automotive culture. With this creation, Louis Vuitton perpetuates a tradition dear to the House: creating trunks to transport, protect and showcase the trophies of the world’s most anticipated and highly prized sporting competitions.

You can catch the F1 75 celebrations via all of F1’s social media channels, including their official YouTube page.

When did Louis Vuitton first establish a relationship with F1?

Louis Vuitton first a relationship with Formula 1 through a partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco, which consisted in developing and presenting the Trophy Trunk for the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco between 2021-2024.
