Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an injury update on Raphinha ahead of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Borussia Dortmund. The first leg is set to kick off on Wednesday, April 9, at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Raphinha has been excellent on the pitch for the better part of this season, making goal contributions in almost every match. However, since the international break in March, the Brazilian’s form seems to be in a bit of a slump. He has started in just one of their last four games while not registering a goal or an assist.
Recently, Raphinha appeared to be fuming with rage after Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Real Betis in La Liga on Saturday. He was captured on camera, pushing first-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen on his way down the tunnel.
To add to the list, rumors surfaced that the 28-year-old might have picked up a minor injury or has been suffering from fatigue. This led to many questioning the winger’s availability for Barca’s upcoming Champions League clash.

While speaking in the pre-match press conference, Flick addressed Raphinha’s situation and dismissed the rumors, putting fans’ minds at ease. The German tactician confirmed that the star is set to feature in the upcoming clash against Borussia Dortmund.
“I don’t think he’s not fresh. After the break we gave him a little time to recover, but in training he is as always – fantastic. We have kept an eye on him, but he is very dynamic and ready for tomorrow’s game,” said Flick.

While there may have been some bumps on the road recently for Raphinha, no one can deny his efforts on the pitch for Barcelona this season, and the numbers speak for themselves. He has netted 27 goals and provided 20 assists in 44 appearances across competitions for the Catalan club so far this season.
