Who is Barbeloth in Genshin Impact?
Barbeloth is one of the Hexenzirkel mages and practices Hydromancy and Astrology. Although little is known about her in the game, she has been mentioned multiple times and has finally made a cameo in the Archon Quest — Paralogism.
Barbeloth is Mona Megistus’ teacher, and she is the person who tasked Mona to Mondstadt to retrieve her diary from Klee, containing a significant portion of her youth. Barbeloth is also a known friend of Alice, another Hexenzirkel mage and the mother of Klee.
During the Paralogism Archon quest in Genshin Impact 5.6, both Alice and Barbeloth appear in the game, albeit transformed into a giant Dodoco. They make Albedo and the Traveler go through a trial before giving them the material required for the transformation of Mini Durin into a human.
Will Barbeloth Be Playable in Genshin Impact?
Currently, there are no leaks or official information about a playable model of Barbeloth in Genshin Impact. However, Barbeloth and Alice are too well-developed characters not to be included in plans for an upcoming release. It is likely that Barbeloth will eventually become a playable character in Genshin Impact, but that’s only a speculation.
As they are talked about heavily in Genshin Impact 5.6, it can be foreshadowing for another future appearance. The most likely place for the appearance of Hexenzirkel mages would be Nod-Krai, the next region in Genshin Impact after Natlan.
Nod-Krai is known to have multiple factions from all over Teyvat, so it won’t be a far fetch to hope Hexenzirkel mages appear there as well. Now, if Barbeloth does become playable, it is likely that she will be a Hydro character, which aligns with her study of Hydromancy.
