It’ll be an NFL Christmas in Minnesota. The Vikings will host divisional opponents the Lions in 2025’s Week 17 for one of the league’s annual Christmas Day games, and tickets won’t last long for the rivalry bash.
Both squads have a chip on their shoulder this season.
Last season’s NFC No. 1 seeded-Detroit was upset in the divisional round after a 15-2 season. The Lions looked like a Super Bowl-bound team but couldn’t get it done against the Commanders.
Neither could the Vikings. After a 15-3 season, Minnesota fell on the road to the Rams in the Wild Card. While the team will have a new look this year with a fresh QB, that doesn’t mean they have a new goal.
The Vikings lost to the Lions twice in 2024, by scores of 31-29 and 31-9, but home field goes a long way in the NFC North. Plus, a miracle or few have happened before in Minneapolis.
