PSG’s pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has received a positive update, with reports indicating that his potential move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is close to falling through.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano stated on Thursday, “Understand Victor Osimhen’s deal with Al Hilal is about to collapse as there’s no agreement with the player. Galatasaray have entered strong in the race, trying to get the deal done.”
While Galatasaray is in the mix, according to PSG TALK via Give Me Sport, the French champions are now leading the race for the 26-year-old forward, who has a €75 million [$85m] release clause in his Napoli contract.
It is reported that PSG is willing to meet both the release fee and Osimhen’s terms.
These developments have complicated Manchester United’s plans, as they had identified Osimhen as their top target to fill their need for a reliable striker. Now, PSG is seen as their main competition for Osimhen, according to the same report. Chelsea is also in the mix but is said to be behind in the race.
Premier League Clubs Still in the Hunt
While PSG lead, Premier League clubs are not backing down. TBR Football reports that Liverpool have already started working behind the scenes, identifying Osimhen as one of their two main targets this summer.

While Osimhen is believed to favor a Premier League move, Napoli are holding firm on their valuation and are refusing to offer any discounts.
Last summer, Sacha Tavolieri reported that PSG launched a €200 million [$228m] joint bid for Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Though Kvaratskhelia arrived in January for around €70 million [$79m], Osimhen’s deal fell through due to internal doubts. Coach Luis Enrique reportedly preferred a more dynamic front line and had reservations about using a traditional No. 9.
But now, it seems, PSG are ready to splash money on one of the talented players in Europe.
