The Jaguars are heading into an important season. Jacksonville has a new head coach in Liam Coen and paid a premium to take the risk on star wide receiver and cornerback combo Travis Hunter.
The rookie has been adamant that he wants to play both sides of the ball at the pro level, and everyone’s first comment has always been the worry that he would get hurt with that much exposure to the game.
Hunter was perhaps humbled early when he arrived in the NFL, and in his first preseason, he was already dealing with an injury. He missed the Jaguars’ second preseason game due to an upper-body injury, and it looks like the injury could be ending his preseason early.

Here are the latest injury updates for Hunter.
Travis Hunter injury update
Hunter is still dealing with what is being called an upper-body injury. We haven’t been given further clarification there, and Coen said that the team is just being overly cautious that Hunter doesn’t worsen it by practicing or playing.
“It was more just do we want him now or potentially not [playing against] Carolina [in Week 1],” Coen said. “It was more just being smart about the next few weeks because the ultimate goal is Carolina. If this was Carolina, would he have probably played? Yeah, so we’re moving in the right direction.”
Hunter picked up the injury during the team’s scrimmage on August 14.

Will Hunter play vs. Dolphins?
No, Hunter will not play in Jacksonville’s preseason finale against Miami.
This decision came from Coen so that the rookie didn’t have a chance to worsen his upper-body injury ahead of the regular season. Coen later decided that none of the starters would play in the preseason finale so that they could focus on Week 1 against Carolina.
