Chelsea have secured another long-term addition to their future squad, agreeing a deal to sign Dutch striker Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg in 2026.
The move, while fully legal, has stirred debate once again because of the close ties between the two clubs under BlueCo ownership.
Emegha, 22, has been one of Ligue 1’s most promising forwards. He struck 14 goals and added three assists in 27 league games last season.
Strasbourg made him captain this year, and he has already scored three times in four matches.
Despite interest from Champions League clubs, he preferred to stay put for now, lead his team in Europe, and then head to Stamford Bridge on a seven-year contract.

Emegha becomes the 10th player to move between Strasbourg and Chelsea since the French side was bought in 2023.
That conveyor belt of talent has raised eyebrows, with critics suggesting Chelsea are effectively treating Strasbourg as a farm club.
Still, the Blues insist the partnership is part of long-term planning.
The striker is expected to compete with Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Marc Guiu when he finally joins. Nicolas Jackson, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, may depart permanently, opening space in the attack.
