Bears QB Caleb Williams earns praise

One player who benefited from Williams’ big game was tight end Cole Kmet as he hauled in a touchdown. Moreover, the 26-year-old appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio to share the Bears quarterback’s progress.

“I thought he played great,” Kmet said. “You talk about the coach dialing up some plays, and Caleb actually found him. It was really good to see Caleb do all that stuff.

“Then, when he had to make a play, he made it—on fourth down, to DJ [Moore] at the back of the end zone, extending it a little and finding the receiver, getting a touch on it. Good stuff by Caleb. He continues to ascend every week. We’re here to support him, and it’s good to see him trending this way.”

Furthermore, Kmet noted that the entire were happy to get Ben Johnson’s first win as the Bears’ head coach.

“It was great,” Kmet added. “He was jacked up. He puts in a lot of work for us, and we got a lot of respect for him here in this locker. So it was great to get him his first win and have it be at home. It was extra special as well.”

The Bears aim to even their record when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders. Both squads sit at 1-2, trying to avoid slipping to 1-3. With Williams playing with growing confidence, the Bears could exploit a Raiders team that has dropped two straight games since their Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots.
