The Denver Broncos will return to Empower Field on Sunday to take on a revived New York Giants team in one of the more interesting games on the Week 7 slate.
The Giants sit at 2-4 but look much better with rookie Jaxson Dart leading the charge, winning two of their last three games. Those wins have come over the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. Sandwiched in between is a loss to the New Orleans Saints, showing that the team can still be pretty bad as well.
The Broncos are coming off an ugly (to put it mildly) win over the New York Jets and that is where one of the more intriguing aspects of this game comes into play. Having faced and defeated the Eagles on Thursday Night Football, the Giants are coming into this game on 10 days rest. Meanwhile, the Broncos played in London last Sunday and are playing this game without having a bye week after an international game, something the team requested.
In addition to Dart, the Giants have an exciting rookie running back in Cam Skattebo. A bowling ball of sorts, Skatteo has rushed for 338 yards and five touchdowns on the young season.
For the Broncos, all signs point to linebacker Dre Greenlaw playing in his first game for the team. The team released quarterback Sam Ehlinger on Friday, opening the door for Greenlaw to join the 53-man roster.

Greenlaw, so long as he’s not on a special snap count, would be an immediate factor in this game. The Broncos’ defense has been stout in the pass-rush department and the secondary has played well. But if there is a weakness, it has been in the middle and that is exactly where Dart (with his legs) and Skattebo will be looking to attack. Dart has also taken a liking to his young tight end, Theo Johnson.
Greenlaw could be responsible (and capable) of shutting all of those players down in this game. With the ability to drop back in pass coverage in addition to coming up and laying the wood on Dart and Skattebo in the running game, his debut in Denver could be huge.

That would take away what might be the only way the Giants can find success on offense. With Malik Nabers already out for the season, wide receiver Darius Slayton will also miss this game due to a hamstring injury. That leaves Dart with a wide receiver group of Wan’dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Gunner Olszewski and Beaux Collins. Former Bronco Lil’Jordan Humphrey is on the team’s practice squad and is a strong candidate to be called up for this game.
