The 26-year-old was close to joining Liverpool last summer, but he decided to stay in Spain for another season. However, this time, things are looking slightly different for the Gunners.

Signing Zubimendi will be a major statement for Arsenal as the Spanish midfielder has a release clause of £51 million, which the North Londoners are ready to trigger.
The Spain international is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world currently. He has been with Real Sociedad since 2016 and has featured for their several youth teams before breaking into the senior team in 2019.
Since then, he has grown from strength to strength and attracted interest from all over Europe. Zubimendi has also played for Spain’s several age group teams before finally making his debut for La Roja in 2021.
The 26-year-old is known for his ability to win duels, retain possession, intercept passes and break up plays. He is also a brilliant passer and someone who can control the tempo of the game from midfield.
It will be a big move for Arsenal if the Spanish midfielder decides to move to the Emirates. He is entering his prime and can lead Arteta’s midfield for many years.
