Barcelona have a new striker on their radar, and he could be exactly what the club needs.
Reports are swirling that the Blaugrana are leading the race to sign Jonathan David, the Lille forward who shocked Real Madrid with a match-winning goal in the UEFA Champions League.
The Canada international, who has already scored eight goals this season, has been in stellar form for Lille, and it seems that Barcelona are keen to bring his talents to Camp Nou for the 2025/26 season.

While Robert Lewandowski is still banging in the goals, with nine strikes this season alone, the Polish legend is turning 37 next year.
Barcelona are on the lookout for a long-term successor, and David seems to be the perfect fit. The 24-year-old has already racked up 92 career goals and is available on a free transfer if Lille can’t extend his contract before June 2025.
The Catalan club, dealing with financial constraints, is eyeing David as a cost-effective yet high-quality solution. They’ll be able to negotiate a pre-contract deal in January, but they face competition from Premier League heavyweights like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

His recent goal against Real Madrid marked his fourth goal in 10 Champions League appearances. In Ligue 1, he has also been impressive, netting 76 goals and providing 11 assists in 152 matches for Lille.
