It may take a few more years, but five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. knows who he wants to play with in the NFL.
The Santa Ana native called Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow his “dream teammate” during an interview with Overtimeszn.
He also sent a warm message to star receiver Tee Higgins.
“My ideal teammate would probably be Joe Burrow or Tee Higgins. The Bengals are my favorite team,” Henry said in the interview.
Henry is considered the top recruit in the 2026 class by 247Sports CompositeHe received 34 offers and went to USC and Tennessee.
Eventually, he committed to Ohio State, Burrow’s alma mater before transferring to LSU. After that commitment, Alabama, Texas, Oregon, Georgia and several other major college programs made offers to the young receiver.
Greg Biggins of 247Sports I compared him to Mike Evans in his player profile.
“Henry checks all the boxes you want to see in a top-tier receiver. In fact, while he doesn’t play a ‘premium’ position from an NFL draft standpoint, he’s good enough to be considered the top overall recruit in the ’26 class, much like Jeremiah Smith was in the ’24 class,” Biggins wrote.
Henry’s comments aren’t exactly surprising. He’s the son of former Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who was a third-round pick in 2005 and played five seasons for the Bengals.
Unfortunately, Henry won’t be eligible for the NFL Draft until 2029. Free agency would be even further away after that date. Still, Henry could one day be the Bengals’ next star receiver.
