Call of Duty games feature a number of configuration options that you can tweak to customize the game’s graphics, audio, controls, and interface to suit your needs. With the Black Ops 6 beta, the developers have added even more HUD settings that you can tweak to fine-tune the gameplay experience.
Best Gameplay HUD Layout/Preset in Black Ops 6 Beta
You will see the Gameplay HUD tab at the top of the game Interface settings menu. The first option, HUD Presetsallows players to choose from several different configurations available. You can choose any HUD style you like, that said, here are my picks for some of the best HUD configurations to use in Black Ops 6:
- Classic:Of all the available options, I prefer to use the classic layout because it seems the clearest to me. You will have the minimap and objective counter in the top left, the HP bar in the bottom left, the field upgrades and equipment in the bottom center, and the score streaks and ammo count in the bottom right of your screen.
- Standard:The standard layout is almost identical to the classic layout, but with one difference: the upgrade and equipment indicator on the field is moved from the center to the bottom right corner, next to the ammo count.
- Enlarged:As the name suggests, all HUD icons are enlarged when you equip the Enlarged layout. It follows the theme of the Standard layout and I recommend it to players who have trouble seeing information, have a large screen, or are sitting far away from the screen.

Best HUD Color Settings in Black Ops 6 Beta
Click on the Colors Click on the tab next to Layouts and here you can further customize the appearance of your HUD in Black Ops 6 multiplayer. In the Interface Element Colors section, you can individually set the color of your character, teammates, party members, and enemies. The default color scheme is great, but feel free to change it to your liking. Additionally, you can change the HUD color palette setting to make the indicators more suitable for your color blindness (protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia).

The most important setting in this section is Color filter (see image above). By default it will be set to none, but I want you to change it to Filter 2 as this increases the brightness and makes the colors of the HUD stand out more, improving your visibility. Be sure to change the Color Filter Target has Both and the Intensity of the world’s colors has 100 for best results.

Now go back to the game HUD settings and adjust the options as follows if you haven’t already.
- Limitations of HUD: A setting that mainly benefits players sitting near a large screen. If you are that person and have trouble reading the HUD (minimap, equipment), adjust the borders using this setting and move them slightly closer to the center of the screen as shown in the image above.
- Mini-map shape:Square (for more range)
- Minimap Rotation: On
- Radar: Disabled
- Compass type:Minimap or disabled (not important due to lack of enemy compass pings in Black Ops games)
- Vehicle HUD Prompts:Disappears after 10 seconds
- In-game text chat: On
- Player Names: First and last name
- Hit Marker Visuals: Enabled (so you know when a target is hit)
- Damage-based damage markers:On (so you know the difference between headshots and bodyshots)
