If the Philadelphia Eagles were hopeful that the team would stay silent in hopes of simmering some of the brewing tensions, receiver A.J. Brown dashed those hopes.

While talking with the media on Thursday, Brown was asked how he’d respond to the speculation that his drop in production was a product of declining skill. Brown noted that if it is the case, it’s also happening with other Eagles, namely Saquon Barkley.

“I guess Saquon ain’t the same player either, then,” Brown said, in a video shared by Tim McManus, ESPN on X

In another question, Brown was asked to comment on the reports that the Eagles, or at least some players, are growing increasingly frustrated with quarterback Jalen Hurts. And while Brown shot the question down, he didn’t exactly offer a denial.

“Ask me about Dallas,” he replied in a video shared on X by PHLY Sports’ EJ Smith

Through Philadelphia’s first 10 games last year, Brown logged 33 receptions for 618 yards with three touchdowns. Through his team’s first 10 games this year, Brown has caught 38 passes with three touchdowns, but for only 457 yards. It’s also worth noting that Brown missed three of the first 10 games in 2024, while he’s only missed one game in 2025.

It’s a similar story with Barkley. Through 10 games last year, Barkley had 1,137 yards at 5.8 yards per attempt, along with eight touchdowns. He also had 23 receptions for 210 yards with two touchdowns. His receiving totals (28 receptions for 207 yards with two touchdowns) are similar in 2025 but his rushing yards are significantly down. Barkley has gained only 662 yards with four touchdowns on the ground and is averaging only 3.8 yards per carry.

On the positive end, the Eagles are 8-2, which is where they were in 2024 at this point. As much chatter as there’s already been about the team’s struggles on offense, it figures to only get louder if the team begins to lose.
