Casemiro could be just one of the big-name players moved on by Manchester United in 2025.
The Red Devils rejected summer transfer interest in the Brazil international with offers arriving from the Saudi Pro League (SPL) for the former Real Madrid star.
His mixed form in Manchester across the last 18 months is viewed by many fans as a symbol of the malaise and slip in standards at Old Trafford under former boss Erik ten Hag.
A January exit is unlikely, with time against United to get a deal completed this month, but the 32-year-old does not have a long-term place in Ruben Amorim’s plans.
Casemiro’s current contract runs until 2026, and as one of the club’s top earners, the Red Devils ownership are keen to offload him in the coming months – if a resolution can be reached.

The veteran midfielder will not be offered a contract extension beyond his current deal in Manchester which presents the club with two options in 2025.
They can negotiate a settlement to terminate his deal, which would have a lesser financial impact than continuing to pay his rumoured £350,000 ($431,000) weekly wages, or push for a sale.
As per reports from Teamtalk.com, Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr could revive their interest in Casemiro, with rumours from Portugal indicating former United and Los Blancos teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘insisting’ on a Riyadh reunion as part of his own renewal talks.
The financial muscle of the SPL means they could bring forward a salary to match his current United wages and a sizeable transfer fee of around £15m ($18.6m).
However, despite the eagerness of Ronaldo and Al Nassr, Casemiro is not convinced over a switch to the Middle East, with Give Me Sport indicating he could accept an offer from MLS side Atalanta United.
The latter will only make a move if United agree to end Casemiro’s contract and any agreement would be subject to MLS salary cap rules in 2025.
