Chelsea star Cole Palmer has offered a typically confident response over his chances of winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
The England international enjoyed a sensational first season at Stamford Bridge in 2023/24 after opting to leave Manchester City in search of first-team football.
The 22-year-old netted 22 Premier League goals, with 25 across all competitions for the Blues, which secured him a nomination for the award.
Six Premier League goals already in 2024/25 underlines his determination to continue that form in the current campaign as he looks to become a crucial player for England alongside his club role.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or is expected to be direct battle between Palmer’s former City teammate Rodri and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, however, he is optimistic over his chances.

Palmer has earned a reputation for self-confidence in interviews, based on his impressive form, and he outlined what is needed to secure the biggest individual award in football.
“It was a surprise to be recognised at that level so early in my career”, he told an interview with The Telegraph.
“It’s a huge honour. Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there.”
Chelsea fans will also be delighted to hear Palmer’s commitment for the long haul at the club with his current contract running until 2033.
“Chelsea feels like home to me, and I’m very excited about what we can achieve together. I’m fully committed to the club and its future.”
When is 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony?
The 2024 Ballon d’Or gala is due to be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET).
