The annual Met Gala is back as many A-list stars get ready for one of the biggest nights in fashion. While watchers of the event can expect to see many notable artists and actors’, athletes from different sports are gearing up for the same red carpet.

On Monday May 5, the fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute is set to kick off with many familiar faces. The Met Gala is co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.

The British racer will lead the event alongside LeBron James as honorary chair. The Los Angeles Lakers player isn’t the only basketball star expected to attend the star studded evening.

WNBA’s Angel Reese is returning for her second Met Gala as a member of the 2025 Costume Institute Benefit Host Committee — alongside Simone Biles, Jonathan Owens and Sha’Carri Richardson.

“I’m beyond excited to stand with my fellow Host Committee members in supporting The Met and this year’s spring Costume Institute exhibition, celebrating the undeniable impact of Black creativity on fashion and culture for centuries,” Richardson released in a statement about the gala. “Our style isn’t just what we wear—it’s how we move, how we own our space, how we tell our story without saying a word.”

When it comes to fashion, guests of the event are encouraged to be styled around the dress code “Tailored for You,” which is a reference to the menswear from the exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Eager to see what some of your favorite celebrities are wearing? Red carpet coverage for the annual gala kicks off at 6:00 PM (ET).
