Brighton could face the prospect of losing two key defenders at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
The Seagulls are still in the hunt for a European qualification spot, after moving up to 10th in the EPL rankings, following a superb 3-0 win over Chelsea.
Fabian Hurzeler has also secured a spot in the FA Cup Fifth Round but the club are reportedly preparing for squad exits in the coming months.
Tariq Lamptey and Joel Veltman are both out of contract in June and the pair are yet to make any firm progress on renewals at the AMEX Stadium.
Brighton contracts latest: Veltman and Lamptey exit update
Both players are eligible to discuss free transfer terms with rival clubs alongside ongoing negotiations at Brighton.
Veltman has been a solid club servant for Brighton, under a host of different managers, following his 2020 move from Ajax.
Lamptey has grown in prominence in the last 18 months, with Hurzeler forced to play the Ghana international in an unfamiliar left-back role, and the former Chelsea star has thrived.
As per reports from the Daily Mirror, Veltman’s former club Ajax want to bring him back to Amsterdam, as part of a double deal with Lamptey.
Lamptey is also on Everton’s radar as the Toffees set out a long-term plan to replace club captain Seamus Coleman, but the lure of likely UEFA Champions League football at Ajax could be key, as the 24-year-old assesses his options.
Brighton do hold an option to extend Veltman’s contract by a further 12 months, but that provision is not in Lamptey’s deal, as the club prepare for final talks in the coming weeks.
