In the midst of a two-front battle, Barcelona turn their focus back to the thrilling La Liga title race as they host 11th-placed Osasuna on Saturday.

The Catalan giants lead the standings by just a single point, with second-place Atletico Madrid nipping at their heels and Real Madrid lurking two points further behind.

Barcelona are charged with securing a vital three points in league play while also keeping one eye on the nervy UEFA Champions League battle in their midst. They lead Benfica 1-0 after a contentious first leg, and while they are the clear favorites to advance with the home leg to come, they won’t want their levels to drop.

Osasuna, meanwhile, have to make up ground if they are to secure a spot in Europe next season. Heading into this weekend, their 33 points have them five behind sixth-placed Real Betis for one of the guaranteed spots in next year’s UEFA field.

Barcelona vs. Osasuna live updates, highlights from La Liga match

1 hour 30 mins to kickoff: Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has nixed rumors of an exit this summer to Saudi Arabia. “He’s happy at the club. He has a contract there and he will respect it until the end of its deal,” Zahavi said, while also confirming they’ve not received any formal offer from Saudi Arabia.

Lewandowski’s contract is through the summer of 2026, with an option for an additional year.

1 hour 45 mins to kickoff: One interesting thing to watch today is whether Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick prioritizes the league or the Champions League. You will be able to tell how he views the two competitions by how much squad rotation there is today, especially with older players like Robert Lewandowski.

If they are in the lineup, he clearly views the league as important, while if there is some rotation, he is prioritizing European play with just the slim aggregate lead.

2 hours to kickoff: Barcelona have continually managed to kick the can of their financial problems down the road, but this summer may see the issues come home to roost. With the club hoping to renew Raphinha’s contract in the near future after his Ballon d’Or-caliber season, there could be consequences.

According to Miguel Rico of Relevo in Spain, players who may have to be sold to fund such a renewal include Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo, or even the likes of Gavi or Fermin Lopez. Rico says it could be a “painful” summer for the club as they are forced to swallow their pride to secure their financial future.

Barcelona vs. Osasuna lineups, team news

Barcelona will be concerned about the availability of Gavi, who missed out midweek and against Real Sociedad last weekend due to illness and thus will be a doubt for this match just days later.

Defender Andreas Christensen has picked up yet another injury, tweaking a muscle in his right leg during training last week.

Otherwise, Hansi Flick has nearly his entire squad at his disposal, with only long-term absentees Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal also unavailable for selection.

It remains to be seen whether he looks to rotate the squad ahead of the coming Champions League second leg, or he prioritizes the league match knowing they already hold a slim lead over Benfica on aggregate. Ferran Torres could be given a spot if Robert Lewandowski is rested, while Pau Cubarsi should be deployed knowing he will miss the coming Champions League game with a red-card suspension.

Barcelona projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Szczesny (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Balde — Casado, De Jong — Lamine Yamal, Olmo, Raphinha — Torres

Barcelona subs: Lineups released one hour prior to kickoff

Osasuna saw playmaker Aimar Oroz forced off at the hour mark of their 3-3 draw with Valencia due to injury, having already scored twice in the match. He will miss a few weeks with a hamstring problem and be absent for this match.

That’s the only issue for Osasuna, who are thought likely to have right-back warrior Jesus Areso available despite a nagging knee injury.

Osasuna projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Herrera (GK) — Areso, Boyomo, Catena, Bretones — Moncayola, Torro — R. Garcia, Barja, Zaragoza — Budimir
