We recently went over the Las Vegas Raiders‘ projected starting lineup on offense after three-plus weeks of free agency and the thing that stood out the most is how terrible the team’s wide receiver situation is.
Las Vegas has a strong No. 2 option in Jakobi Meyers, but the team doesn’t have a No. 1, and the Raiders are lacking depth, also. If the Raiders want Geno Smith to succeed, something has to change.
There are still some good players left in free agency, and the Raiders could also opt to draft a wide receiver with their slew of picks. But Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton is thinking a lot bigger than that.
Moton suggested five trade packages for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and one of them included the Raiders giving up Tre Tucker and a pair of third-round picks, one in 2025 and one in 2026. The proposal also sees Las Vegas get back two fifth-rounders over the next two drafts.
The Raiders can bring in Hill as an upgrade over Tucker to field a more explosive offense with Smith’s ability to sling the ball accurately downfield. Because head coach Mike McDaniel emphasizes offensive speed, he may want Tucker in a deal.
The situation with Hill and the Dolphins is strange. He said he wanted out of Miami after last season, but then changed his mind.
More recently, Hill responded to tweets talking about trading him using emojis, which didn’t help quell trade speculation. On the flip side, he then shot down a rumor suggesting he would be OK with the Dolphins trading him.

Hill and the Dolphins parting ways feels inevitable, whether it happens before or during the 2025 season. Miami may want to get out in front of that and trade the superstar wideout before they have no leverage.

Decline is an obvious concern with Hill turning 31 and coming off a down season, but context is important. The eight-time Pro Bowler was playing injured in 2024 and didn’t have Tua Tagovailoa for a full slate of games.
Adding Hill would give the Raiders a ridiculously talented trio of pass-catchers when you include Meyers and budding superstar tight end Brock Bowers. From there, Las Vegas would just need to add another depth piece and they’d be good.
The compensation Moton mentions is pretty hefty, but Las Vegas does have a total of 19 selections between 2025 and 2026. Making it easier to part with those picks, Hill is under contract through 2026, so he won’t be a rental.
