The new Fall series in main video It’s intense and action-packed, but “scary” isn’t the best word to describe it. When telling a story about a nuclear disaster and a world war, one might expect zombies, senseless murders, and strangely mutated creatures. The new series doesn’t offer much on that front and instead offers a complex story that’s full of world-building and emotions. All that said, there is an absolutely terrifying sequence in the third episode.
Produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the series takes place in the same fictional world as the popular video games, which debuted in 1997. Over eight episodes, the show follows a group of survivors more than 200 years after a disaster. nuclear apocalyptic.
Ella Purnell plays Lucy, an optimistic vault dweller, Walton Goggins plays The Ghoul, a ruthless bounty hunter, and Aaron Moten plays Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.
As the season progresses, Lucy embarks on a search for her father, who was kidnapped from his Vault after their ill-fated wedding day, The Ghoul continues the search for his family, and Maximus is sent on a mission to hunt down the scientist. fugitive Siggi Wilzig (Michael Emerson).
Siggi commits suicide and tells Lucy to cut off his head and take it to Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury), the woman who kidnapped his father. But in episode 3, “The Head”, his plan is thwarted by a sea monster named Gulper, who appears as a large four-legged amphibian with a fleshy body.
The Ghoul and Lucy cross paths, and Lucy informs him of the creature’s theft after the bounty hunter holds her at gunpoint. “I lost it, I lost it,” Lucy tells The Ghoul. He steps on a pile of goo and turns to ask her, “A Gulper got it, huh?”
One can only suspect that The Ghoul knows more about this creature than the young protégé. When viewers are reunited with the pair, The Ghoul has Lucy tied to a pulley which he uses to immerse her in radioactive water for long periods of time.
“Stop! Torture is wrong,” Lucy screams as they lift her up to catch her breath.
The Ghoul agrees. “I used to do these things called studies: you couldn’t open a newspaper without reading about one study or another,” he says. “Anyway, this particular study came out and it said that torturing a person doesn’t do any good.” The Ghoul drops Lucy in the water and brings her back. “What I mean is, if you ask me, those studies were right. Torturing a person doesn’t do shit… I’m not torturing you, honey. “I’m using you as bait.”
Uh oh, could that just mean…? Correct! The Ghoul is using Lucy as bait for the Gulper. When the sea monster returns, he begins a chase much longer than his first appearance.
Lucy screams as the creature, which has several teeth in its mouth, charges towards her and climbs to the ground. She looks on in shock before kicking the Gulper away and inching away. The Ghoul rises to the occasion and stabs him, but the Gulper hits him with its tail. The Ghoul’s dog attacks the beast and bites its hand, causing it to recoil in pain and re-emerge into the water.
The scene was a few minutes of pure adrenaline and fear that caused nightmares. The creature looked like something straight out of a horror movie, unlike the adorable two-headed cattle from Episode 2, and since the story was just beginning, it was unclear if one of the main actors would be maimed.
If you are looking for terror, Fall It is not the program to turn to. But if you’re open to a long journey through a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a few scares from time to time, you’re in the right place.
