Time management is vitally important in today’s busy world. Many of us have multiple obligations and multiple places we need to be, all at the same time. Therefore, it is not surprising that people often forget some of their tasks and responsibilities. And who likes having to explain to their friends why they forgot to buy balloons for the party they met about five weeks ago?

Luckily, Google Calendar offers you the option to add a reminder for your tasks or events. We will explain how in the next section.
How to add a reminder to your desktop
Adding a reminder to Google Calendar is quite simple. All you need to do is sign in to Google Calendar, with your existing Google account, and follow these steps:
- At the bottom left, find “My Calendars.” You can check your existing Reminders.

- At the top left, select “Create.”

- When the pop-up window appears, select “Reminder”.

- Write the reminder you want or choose one of the suggestions.

- Set date, time and frequency.

- Press “Save.”

And that’s it, you’ve just created a reminder for yourself. Now you can enjoy your day without having to think about that task, knowing that Google Calendar will remind you of the day and time you selected.
How to add a reminder on your Android device
First, if you haven’t already, you’ll need to install the Google Calendar app from the Play Store. Once you’ve done this, sign in with your Google account information.
Now to add a reminder:
- Open the Google Calendar app.

- At the bottom right, locate the “Create” option.

- Choose “Reminder.”

- Write your reminder or choose a suggestion.

- Set time, date and frequency.

- At the top right, select “Save.”

If you were reminded and completed the task, here’s how to get rid of it.
- Once you decide you no longer want to see this reminder, open it.

- Click “Mark as Complete.” Google Calendar will cross it off for you.

Being organized and managing all your tasks has never been easier.
How to edit a reminder
A slight, or even big, change of plans is common. This might also require you to change your reminders.
Luckily, it’s as easy as other actions in Google Calendar:
- Open your Google Calendar.

- Find the reminder you want to edit.

- At the top right you will find a pencil-shaped icon. Click this icon to edit.

- Make your changes.

- Click “Save” when you’re done.

Again, it’s a very simple way to keep track of your obligations and keep your reminders accurate.
How to mark a reminder as done
There is no better feeling than having completed the day’s tasks. Even better is to cross them off on your to-do list or, in this case, Google Calendar.
There are two ways to mark a reminder as done.
The first way to do this is:
- Open Google Calendar on your device.

- Open the reminder you want to delete.

- Click or tap “Mark as Complete.” It will be removed from the list.

How to hide your reminders
There are days when you just want to relax and ignore all the tasks on your list because of other obligations or you are just giving yourself a break.
If you want to do so, you can also hide reminders in your Google Calendar:
- Open the Google Calendar app on your phone.

- Locate the “Menu” at the top left. Tap it and you’ll find your events, tasks, and reminders.

- Uncheck “Reminders” and they will be removed from your calendar.

If you want to do the same, but using your desktop:
- Sign in to Google Calendar.

- At the bottom left, you will see “My Calendars.”

- Uncheck “Reminders” and that’s it.

Why your reminder may not have been displayed
Occasionally it may happen that a reminder you created may not appear on your calendar.
There may be a few reasons why this occurs, but none of them change the fact that you may have missed something important. These reasons may include:
- You accidentally deleted the reminder. It can happen easily as it can be done with just two clicks (click on the top right corner and remove the reminder).
- You already marked it as done. This can also happen easily, as it’s very easy to mark a reminder as done (just swipe it to the right and it’ll disappear).
- You may have “hid” your reminders in Google Calendar. This is done by unchecking them in “My Calendar.”
As much as technology can make our lives easier, sometimes it can also create chaos. It’s a good idea to double-check your calendar list to make sure all your tasks are up to date.
