In fact, the only thing missing is room service!
We spoke to some experts about how to make your bed like a hotel would if you want to achieve a luxurious look at home.
1. Invest in the right mattress

One of the essential things about a hotel bed is optimal comfort, and making sure you have one of the best mattresses It can make a difference in your sleep. This will give you the right support for your body type and sleeping position, will be super comfortable, and will relieve any tension caused by ailments.
Depending on your sleeping style, there are several types of mattresses, including memory foam, hybrid, refreshing and organic. In fact, many luxury hotels choose to hybrimattresses d that are firm, more breathable but cozy, or viscoelastic mattresses which offer extra bounce and warmth for guests.
Alternatively, if your mattress is relatively new or you want to upgrade your guest roomyou can choose one of the best mattress toppers instead. This is essentially a strong layer of foam that offers additional support to your existing mattress, especially if it is worn out or you have back problems. What’s more, these can instantly change the overall feel of your bed, making it softer, firmer, cooler or warmer.
However, it is not recommended use a mattress topper as a mattress for long-term use.
2. Get rid of your colorful bedding and opt for all-white sheets

The general rule of thumb is to use predominantly white bedding to achieve that luxurious hotel look. That means swapping out bedding with floral, bold, or geometric prints for crisp, wrinkle-free white sheets.
The main reason hotels use white bedding is that it does not hide any stains and alerts the guest to how clean and fresh the sheets are. Additionally, white is often associated with luxury, due to its super clean look and feel.
“Almost all hotels use crisp white sheets, without complicated patterns or colors,” he says. Marisa Cohen, health writer for Hearst Publications. “Why? It creates a feeling that the bed is always clean, fresh and calm, not to mention it makes you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.”
What’s more, white is the perfect neutral background if you want to add colorful accessories, such as cushions or a bed runner. To keep your bedding spotless, you may also want to check out How to make white sheets brighter in 3 easy ways.
3. Get good quality sheets

In addition to having all-white bedding, be sure to invest in good quality sheets. Most hotels tend to use 100% cotton or Egyptian cotton for a luxurious and super soft feel.
“Luxury sheets can be made from a variety of materials, including cotton, linen, bamboo and silk,” he agrees. Christina Heiser, senior content director at Saatva. “However, cotton is by far the most popular material for sheets because it has an incredibly soft feel, offers excellent breathability, and tends to be very durable.
Natural cotton that has not been over-dyed is the most eco-friendly and safe for people with sensitive skin. Sheets made from synthetic materials, such as polyester, will not be as soft and breathable or as durable, and may irritate the skin.”
Additionally, hotel bedding is usually around 300 thread count, which is enough for a restful night’s sleep. And while sheets and pillows with higher thread counts are more tightly woven, making them softer, smoother, and more durable, this doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better for sleeping on.
“The ideal thread count for sateen cotton sheets is 300 to 600, while the ideal thread count for percale cotton sheets is 200 to 400,” agrees Heiser. “Anything higher than that traps body heat and can cause you to sleep hot. Saatva sateen sheets are 300 thread count, while our percale sheets are 200 thread count. This results in optimal softness and breathability.”
So if you are a hot sleeper and tend to sweat at night, it is best to opt for bedding with a lower, more comfortable thread count.
4. Layer your bedding

If you’ve wondered how housekeeping can change a hotel bed in just a few minutes, it’s actually not that difficult (with practice).
Typically, hotels use two oversized flat sheets instead of one fitted sheet. First, start with the flat sheet that is tucked around the mattress, before adding another flat sheet that is placed between the guest and a lightweight or waffle blanket.
A third sheet (the top cover) is then used on top of the blanket, which is usually a down alternative comforter or fluffy down. Down comforters offer exceptional warmth, extra comfort and luxury for a cozy night’s sleep.
While this may seem like an excessive number of layers, the “weight” is meant to provide warmth. Similar to having one of the best weighted blanketsThis will increase the quality of your sleep and relieve stress; Essentially, it will provide the experience of a hug under weight.

Hotels generally opt for 100% duck or feather cushions as they offer great warmth and soft comfort. However, if you suffer from allergies, bamboo or synthetic down alternatives can be just as plush and luxurious.
Another dilemma is whether it is better Sleep with one or two pillows? “In general, most people can sleep well with a pillow under their head,” he says.
