Continue watching on Funimation is a useful option when you return to a show you were watching on the streaming platform and want to continue watching it from where you left off.
But if you don’t want to continue watching or want to enjoy an entire season from the beginning, Continue Watching is a pain. Because?
Well, with Funimation, to watch a show from the beginning, you will have to rewind completely. Currently, Funimation does not give you the option to simply start over. But this doesn’t mean you can’t delete Continue Watching.
This article explores the proven methods for doing so with some helpful tips along the way.
How to delete Continue watching
At first glance, it may seem complicated to delete Continue Watching on Funimation. There is no button or option that allows you to remove Continue Watching on your account or on a particular series.
But this does not mean that it is impossible to do so. Below we explain how to carry out the action if you are a PC and Android user.
- Open the anime you’ve watched on Funimation through a browser.

- Launch the Funimation app on an Android device.

- Click Version, then select Uncut in browser and app.

- Within the Android app, open an episode that you’ve already watched but don’t want to continue.

- Tap the progress bar and move it to the beginning.

- Let the show play for a few seconds and then exit the episode.

- You will see that the purple progress bar is now clear.

- The software will play the episode from the beginning when you log in again.
The same method works from the browser. But it may take a few minutes of playback to clear the purple progress bar after moving it to the beginning of an episode. Or you may need to watch or fast forward to the end of an episode to clear Continue Watching.
The best thing about using the Funimation app for Android is that you only have to do it on one episode within a season. Then the rest of the episodes of that season automatically follow suit. As soon as you press Play, you return to the beginning of an episode and the purple progress bar clears.
When you update Funimation in a browser, the changes take effect and the Continue Watching setting is cleared there as well. Of course, this only applies if you access the application from the same account.
Pro tips
When you clear Continue Watching as described above, you can enjoy an entire season without having to rewind anything or scroll through the credits.
Additionally, installing the BlueStacks Android emulator allows you to access and use the mobile version of Funimation on your PC or Mac. It is a good option because the app runs smoother and faster than in a browser.
Delete Continue Watching on Apple Devices
Since everything happens within the Funimation app, the steps are the same as for PC and Android users. But it won’t hurt to return to them.
- Launch Funimation from Safari in any other browser.

- Access the application from your iPhone or iPad.

- Go to an episode of a series you watched through the mobile app.

- Tap the playback progress bar and slide it to the beginning.

- Let the playback play for a few seconds and then exit the episode.

- The action should clear Continue Watching for the entire season.

- Refresh your browser to see if the changes have taken effect.
Alternative methods
If the above methods don’t work, you can try one of the following methods.
Alternative number 1: move forward
- Open a season of an anime and select the latest episode.

- Skip ahead to the end of the episode, let it run until the end, and then exit.

This action should clear Continue Watching for the entire season. The method works on mobile and browser versions of streaming services and on different devices.
Alternative #2: Clear History
Clearing Funimation history is probably the fastest way to delete Continue Watching. But keep in mind that it will clear the history of all the episodes you watched within the app. In other words, you’ll lose progress on episodes you might want to continue watching.
- Launch Funimation and navigate to Cola.

- Click or tap History, then click or tap Clear History.

The software may ask you to confirm your action. Once this is done, it will clear all progress bars.
This is easy but it doesn’t really provide the best user experience. Some people like to quickly preview shows to choose which one they like, but this quickly fills up your viewing history.
Ideally, Funimation in the future will include a button or option to remove Continue Watching specific episodes.
Can you skip intros on Funimation?
No, You can not. As of this writing, the streaming service does not allow you to skip the intro credits. The only way to do this is to move too quickly through the content.
Can content be filtered by language?
No, you can’t, and this is a disadvantage because many people don’t speak Japanese. Thus, filtering by dubbing or subtitles would be an option that would significantly improve the user experience.
Continue watching… No!
When all is said and done, you need to resort to little tricks to delete Continue Watching on Funimation. But this certainly does not diminish the quality of the anime that this streaming service presents.
Additionally, Funimation has recently become part of Crunchyroll, so it’s safe to assume that the software will improve with future updates.
