Even if you don’t have an Android phone, you probably use three or four of Google’s services daily, so the company knows a lot about you. The information collected may include your commute and shopping habits, even if you used the service offline.

Use a web browser to delete Google search history in MyActivity

Please note that deleting search history removes it from your Google account and not just from specific devices. Therefore, deleting any history removes it from all devices.

Follow the steps below to delete Google history using your iPhone, Android phone, tablet, MacBook, Chromebook, desktop PC or laptop.

1. go to your My activity page using a browser.
2. DO NOT CLICK DELETE DROP DOWN at this point. This action has time filters (only before adding other filters like time or product) but immediately deletes all Google history (not just Google Search). If you added filters previously, you will first receive a message.
   
3. Click on the vertical ellipsis (three vertical dots) to the right of Search your activity.
   
4. Choose the history time period you want to delete. For this article, we are selecting All the time.
   
5. Check the box next to Look for and uncheck the other boxes if you don’t want other data to be deleted. Then click Next.
   
6. Finally, review the web pages and select Delete.
   

If you want, the steps above allow you to quickly delete your Google search history using specific dates and keywords. By completing the steps listed above, all Google search history is deleted from the devices associated with that account.

Clear ALL Google search history completely using Chrome on PC (Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebook)

If you want a quick and easy way to bulk delete your entire Google search history and optionally delete all browsing history, saved passwords, cache, and cookies in Chrome, the steps below cover it all.

1. Launch Chrome and sign in to the correct account if you haven’t already.
   
2. Click on the vertical ellipsis (three vertical dots) in the top right corner of your browser to open the Chrome menu.
   
3. Now select Settings of the options.
   
4. Then click Delete navigation data in it Privacy & Security p.
5. Choose between the Essential either Advanced eyelash. Basic is a way to quickly clear your Google history, while Advanced gives you more control over inpidual items, like passwords.
   
6. Click on Delete data to delete the selected items.
   

The steps above delete any Google history (including search history) that you selected in the steps above.

Delete Google history on an Android

On your Android device, open Google Chrome and follow these steps:

1. Tap on the vertical ellipsis (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner.
   
2. Now select History.
   
3. Then select Delete navigation data… in the new window.
   
4. Confirm when finished.

Note: You can also touch the x next to each web page to eliminate your searches.

Your entire Google history, including search history, disappears after performing the steps above. Therefore, make sure you have saved the sites, data and other personal information elsewhere.

Clear Google history on an iPhone

For iPhone users, open Google history and follow these steps to clear your history:

1. Start the iOS Chrome application.
   
2. Tap on the History on the home page if it is visible, or tap the horizontal ellipsis (three horizontal dots) in the lower right corner and choose History on the new page.
   
3. Tap Delete navigation data…
   
4. Choose the time range, then uncheck the data you want to keep, such as Cookies, Site data, Cached Imagesetc., then select Delete navigation data.
   
5. Confirm the action by tapping Delete navigation data one more time.

Once you’ve completed the steps above, all of your Chrome browsing history and any other history you’ve selected will be deleted from your iPhone, including your Google search history.

Set up automatic deletion of Google history data

Google offers an option to automatically dispose of your data. If you prefer to retain some data, it is best to avoid this feature. However, if you want to automatically delete all your Google search data, follow these steps to set up the auto-delete feature:

1. Visit your Google My Activity page and log in to the correct account.
   
2. In the left navigation menu, click Activity controls.
   
3. Scroll down and click Automatic deletion (disabled).
   
4. Click on the Automatically delete activity before drop down menu and choose 3 months, 18 monthseither 36 monthsthen click “Next.“
   
5. Confirm your automatic activity deletion option by clicking Confirm. Remember that the preview of your activity history is just that.
   

After completing the above settings, Google will automatically delete your search history routinely based on the set duration.

I want to save my passwords but delete everything else. How can I do this?

If you are deleting all your data from Google, it is possible to deselect the option in Delete navigation data to clear passwords. But, if you want more security, you can use a browser extension like last pass to store your passwords in a safe place.

Just like Google or Chrome, Last Pass can auto-fill your passwords by storing them for you.

Can I permanently close my Google account?

Yes. If you are no longer interested in using it, you can do so permanently. delete your google account.

Remember that performing this action will completely delete all your information related to Google.
