It is very common for those around you to unconsciously look at your phone when you have WhatsApp open and you may not want them to see who you have been chatting with.

How to hide messages on WhatsApp on an iPhone

- Tap on Settings.

- Select Account and then Privacy.

- Locate and press Screen lock.

- Depending on your iPhone, you will see Require facial identification either Require Touch ID.

- Click the toggle switch next to it to activate this feature.

- Choose how long it will be before this takes effect. Your options are Immediately, After 1 minute, after 15 minutesand After 1 hour.

Now you’ll have an extra layer of security to hide your messages and you’ll need your Face ID or Touch ID to open the app.
Hide notifications
You may want to hide your WhatsApp notifications. If you have multiple chats active simultaneously, these notifications can distract you. You can easily disable this feature by changing your iPhone settings. This is how you do it:

- Locate and select Notifications and then WhatsApp.
