Removing unwanted devices

How to remove a device

To get started, open the Google Home app and tap the device you want to remove. These should appear on the home page. If you don’t see them immediately, tap the Home icon in the bottom left corner of the app.
Next, tap the Settings gear in the top right corner.
Now, scroll down and tap “Unpair”. [Device].’
Follow the prompts to remove your device. A page will complete and you will need to click your device name once again to unpair it. Once this is done, go back to the apps home screen and check that the device is gone.
Unlink device manufacturer
The first step to removing unwanted devices from Google Home is to unlink their manufacturer from your app.
- Open the Google Home app and tap the Menu icon in the top right corner (three dots).
- Tap the ‘Home Control’ option.
- Under the ‘Devices’ tab, you will see a list of your connected devices. Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen (three dots).
- Tap the ‘Manage Accounts’ option to open the list of linked services.
- In the “Linked Services” section, tap the manufacturer name of the device you want to remove.
- This will open the screen for this service provider. Tap on the ‘Unlink account’ option.
- To confirm, tap ‘Unpair’.
If you followed the steps above, you have successfully removed all Devices list entries related to this manufacturer.
Reconnect devices
To reconnect unpaired devices, simply follow the same process as when you first added them to the app. Before you begin, make sure they are ready to pair by plugging the devices into the power outlet and connecting them to your Wi-Fi.
Start by opening the Google Home app and tapping “Add” on the home screen. From there, simply follow the steps as if you were adding the device for the first time. Once you choose the first device, the app will require you to sign in to the account you have with the device manufacturer. After that, the device will appear in the “Devices” list and you can proceed to add the rest of the removed devices.
This way you managed to remove all the unwanted devices from your Google Home app, leaving you with a clear list of the ones you plan to use.
