How to replace the battery on AirTags?
Replacing the battery on your AirTag is pretty simple:
- Turn the AirTag so the silver side is facing up.

- On opposite sides of the silver casing, press down with your thumbs.
- Turn counterclockwise while pressing down.

- Once the silver cap comes loose, remove it.

- Remove the old battery.
- Insert your new CR2032 battery with the + (positive) sign facing up.

- Replace the silver cover.
- Turn the cap clockwise while pressing down again with your thumbs.

Are AirTags rechargeable?
AirTags are battery powered and are not designed to be recharged. They use Panasonic CR2032 batteries.
How long do AirTag batteries last?
AirTag batteries can last up to a year, depending on usage. This approach is based on the daily use of four playback sound triggers and one precision search event per day. Fortunately, Apple lets you know when the battery is running low by sending an alert to your iPhone.

How do I pair my AirTags?
Before you can successfully pair your AirTag, the following must be enabled on your device:
· Two-factor authentication
· The “Find My” application
· Bluetooth
· Location services
· Location access for “Find My” and
· A strong Wi-Fi or cellular connection.

Then, to pair your AirTag:
1. If you have just purchased an AirTag, once you have removed the packaging, pull out the tab to start the battery and then the AirTag will play a welcome sound.
2. Hold the AirTag near one of your Apple devices, and then click “Connect.”

3. Complete the on-screen instructions.
· You’ll see the message “More than one AirTag detected” if you have multiple AirTags. Make sure there is only one AirTag near your device at a time.
4. Click the item you want to track and then click “Continue.”

5. Click “Continue” again to register your AirTag with your Apple ID.
· The AirTag will ring again once setup is complete.

How to find an item?
If you lose an item, use the “Find My” app to help you locate it.
1. Start “Find My”.
2. Click “Articles”.
3. Then search for your AirTag via the map.
4. In the “Item List” at the bottom, you will see the details of the place and time of your last known location.
5. For more details, select an item.
6. If your item appears to be nearby but you can’t find it, click “Play Sound” and then hear a sound.
7. If your iPhone is a recent model with Ultra Wideband and your item is within Bluetooth range, a button labeled “Search” will appear.
8. Otherwise, a “Directions” button will be available. Clicking on it will launch a map that will take you to the last location of your item.
9. Click “Search” for help finding the exact location of your item.
Then, with your iPhone, move around your space a bit.
10. Once your iPhone and AirTag connect, an arrow will guide you to it and tell you the approximate distance from you in feet.
11. When you have found it, you will hear the AirTag ring.
12. Click the “X” to exit the page.
How to change the name of your AirTag?
1. Launch “Find My” and then click “Items”.

2. Click AirTag for the name/emoji you want to change.

3. Scroll down to select the “Rename” item.

4. Select “Custom Name” or choose one of the options.

5. Enter another name for AirTag, and then choose an emoji.
6. Select “Done”.
How to fix AirTag not connecting?
Try the following if your AirTag is not working or connecting to your device:
Make sure two-factor authentication is enabled
1. On your Apple device, launch “Settings”.

2. Click your name and then click “Password & Security.”

3. Select Two-Factor Authentication to activate it.

4. Then select “Continue”.
5. Enter the number you want to receive verification codes on when you log in.
· You can receive codes via text message or an automated phone call.
6. Click “Next.”
7. Enter the verification code to verify your number and enable two-factor authentication.
Make sure you are not using a Managed Apple ID
Apple recommends not using your iOS/iPadOS devices with Managed Apple ID for successful AirTag pairing.
Make sure Find My App is enabled
1. Launch “Settings”.

2. Click on your name and then “Find My.”

3. To let your friends and family know where you are, enable “Share my location.”

4. Select “Find my [device]” then enable “Find my [device]”.
5. Enable “Find My Network” to see your device when you are offline.
Enable “Send Last Location” to send your device’s location to Apple when the battery is low.
Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled
To enable Bluetooth:
1. Launch “Settings” through your Apple device.

2. Tap “Bluetooth” and then turn on “Bluetooth”.

To enable Wi-Fi:
1. Launch “Settings” through your Apple device.

2. Tap “Wi-Fi” and then turn on “Wi-Fi”.

Location service activated
1. Launch “Settings” on your Apple device.

2. Scroll to the bottom “Privacy” and tap it.

3. Select “Location Services” and then turn on “Location Services”.

If none of the above gets your AirTag to connect, it’s time to bring out the big guns:
Try resetting network settings
Your Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and mobile data must be working well for AirTag to work. Try resetting your network settings to essentially erase all of your previous Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth connections and hopefully fix any network-related issues that are preventing AirTag from connecting to your device:
1. Launch “Settings” on your Apple device.

2. Click “General”.

3. Scroll down and click “Reset”.

4. Then “Reset Network Settings”.

Try an AirTag factory reset
A factory reset is known to resolve common AirTag connection issues. To factory reset your AirTag:
1. Launch “Find My” and then select “Items”.
2. Click the AirTag you want to reset.
3. To access AirTag settings, swipe up.
4. Then click “Delete Item”.
5. Click “Delete” again to confirm.
· Once you have successfully reset your AirTag, reconnect it to the device:
6. Hold the AirTag near your device, then select the “Connect” button that appears.
