There are many benefits to scheduling an email and sending it at a later date, rather than immediately. It gives you extra time to make edits and ensure the recipient receives it at a convenient time, among many other reasons. Pre-planning an email and sending it automatically is the perfect way to free up some space on your calendar.
Perhaps you would like to prepare an email to be sent on Monday morning while you are still sleeping. Google’s line of useful software is another great addition to the digital age. Let’s take a look at how to program Gmail for desktop, Android and iOS devices.
Desk guide
Sign in to your Gmail account and follow these next steps:
- Click the Compose button.

- Enter your recipient’s information.

- Write your email.

- Click the drop-down arrow next to the Submit button.

Can you schedule a Gmail in Outlook?
Outlook is a one-stop service for all your email accounts. Whether you’re using Gmail and your work email together, Outlook users may experience some limitations with the scheduling feature.
Only the Outlook application has the option that allows users to send an email at a later date and time. To send an email later in Outlook, do this:
- Click the option to compose a new message at the top left of the app.

- Click the ‘To:’ box to add your recipient(s)

- Add your theme and content

- Locate the very small arrow next to the “Send” option in the left corner
- Click ‘Send Later’

- Set your date and time in the popup box

- Click ‘Send’

Unfortunately, the browser version of Outlook won’t have this option, so you’ll need to download the app if you want to use the email scheduling feature.
The biggest advantage to scheduling an email
Probably one of the most important things about using this Gmail feature is that no matter what may happen to your Internet connection or your free time at some point, your Gmail “secretary” can still deliver the email to the person or people you meet. you want at the desired time. It’s really like having your own little personal assistant.
If you’re having trouble keeping up with tasks, you can use this feature in Gmail to help you complete them smoothly.
Not only can you pretend to work while you’re fishing at a nearby lake, but you can also set up an email to automatically send to your spouse every year on your anniversary (at least until the year 2068).
