Certain shooting games like PUBG allow players to aim down sights (ADS) for greater accuracy. You get minuscule magnification and the use of sights or iron sights to align yourself with your target. Scopes are wonderful for quick shots or even precision shots at longer ranges.
Do you need help learning how to use the viewer in PUBG? In this article, you will read about the ins and outs of shooting with a scope. We’ll also answer some of the burning questions you may have.
How to use scope in PUBG?
To use a headset in PUBG, you must first find one. All weapons lying on the ground have no attachments, so after picking up a scope, you need to attach it to the weapon. However, some weapons cannot be equipped with scopes.
Some scopes can only be used with certain weapons, such as sniper scopes for sniper rifles. You also need the right scope for the right situation, as low-magnification scopes may not work as well as high-magnification ones in long-range situations.
You can also carry one of each and change sights when you can. Since you should have some space in your inventory, you can always carry an extra scope if you prefer.
Scopes can only be used from the first-person perspective. If you are in third person mode, you will not be able to take advantage of your weapon’s optics. However, both perspectives have their advantages.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at how to use scope in PUBG.
For PlayStation
By default, you use the headset on PS4 and PS5 by tapping the left trigger or L2. Other FPS titles let you choose between toggling ADS or holding down the button. However, PUBG is different from these titles.
You have to hold L2 to change perspective and tap L2 to use a viewfinder. This can be an annoying obstacle to mastering PUBG’s controls, but with practice you can overcome it.
If you’re on a console, you can adjust the magnification for some scopes with R2 or RB. When you hold those buttons, use the left stick and move up to zoom in and down to zoom out.
These are the steps to use a crosshair in PUBG on PS4 and PS5:
- Enter a game in PUBG.
- When you land, look for a weapon or scope first.
- If you find a weapon first, you can instantly attach a compatible scope you find on the ground.

- If you find a scope first, locate a weapon and attach the scope to the gun from your inventory.

- Once your weapon has a scope, tap L2.

- You should now be able to use the scope to aim at potential targets.

- Tap LT once more to exit ADS mode.

For Xbox
On Xbox One and Xbox X|S, you aim down sights using the same button, although it’s called LT on the Xbox controller. You must tap LT to use the scope, as holding LT is reserved for switching to a third-person view. People who are used to holding down the button to aim need to adjust their muscle memory and habits.
Just like on PS4 and PS5, you can adjust the magnification level with RB and the left stick.
If you want to use scope in PUBG for Xbox, check out the steps below:
- Enter a game in PUBG.
- When you land, look for a weapon or scope first.
- If you find a weapon first, you can instantly attach a compatible scope you find on the ground.

- If you find a scope first, locate a weapon and attach the scope to the gun from your inventory.

- Once your weapon has a scope, tap LT.

- You should now be able to use the scope to aim at potential targets.

- Tap LT once more to exit ADS mode.

As long as you can train yourself to stop holding LT to aim, PUBG shouldn’t be a problem.
For PC
On PC, you have the option of using a mouse and keyboard or a controller. Using a headset on PUBG PC with a controller is identical to the steps above. It’s when you use a mouse and keyboard that you need to adapt.
To aim down sights, you need to right-click. If you have a multi-magnification scope, you must scroll up or down to toggle between zoom levels. Once you’ve taken out all the hostiles in the area, you just need to right-click again to exit ADS mode.
Just like on consoles, you must be in first-person mode to use all areas. Press “V” to change perspective.
In PUBG on PC, this is how to use a weapon’s scope:
- Enter a game in PUBG.
- When you land, look for a weapon or scope first.
- If you find a weapon first, you can instantly attach a compatible scope you find on the ground.

- Once your weapon has a scope, right click once.

- You should now be able to use the scope to aim at potential targets.

- Right click once more to exit ADS mode.

For PUBG Mobile
Mobile phones do not have buttons to press (except gaming phones). As such, most of you will have the ADS button on the screen. It will be on the right side of the screen by default.
This is how you use range in PUBG Mobile:
- Enter a game in PUBG.
- When you land, look for a weapon or scope first.
- If you find a weapon first, you can instantly attach a compatible scope you find on the ground.

- If you find a scope first, locate a weapon and attach the scope to the gun from your inventory.

- Once your gun has a scope, tap the cross-shaped button on the right.

- You should now be able to use the scope to aim at potential targets.

- Tap or release to exit ADS mode.

In PUBG Mobile, you can set ADS to tap or hold. It all depends on your preferences, so choose what you like best.

Tips for shooting in PUBG
Shooting in PUBG can be difficult, but with practice you will get better. Here are some tips to help you shoot better:
• Adjustment for bullet drop
• Take into account scope deviation
• Find a good place to shoot
• Integrate with the environment
• Move frequently so that you are not detected
• Preferably use a bolt action rifle.
Bullet drop accounting is very important. You need to get used to your weapons and realize it. This means that you will aim higher than your opponent’s actual position. If they are right in front, just aim straight as the bullet drop will be minimal.
How to achieve moving targets?
Hitting a moving target is almost impossible if you aim directly at it. The bullets take too long to hit, since they are not hitscan like in other FPS titles. As such, you must direct your shots to hit them.
If an enemy is 100 meters away, aim your shots at a distance of one person, and at 200 meters, two people between your target and the crosshairs. This may be different for each gun, as they all differ in bullet velocity.
How to aim better?
There is no specific rule to achieve better aim except constant practice. However, here are some general tips to help you.
• Master the spray and recoil patterns of your favorite weapons.
• Master the scope you prefer to use.
• Shot from the hip at close range.
Is there 3x range sensitivity in PUBG Mobile?
Yes there are. You can adjust it to your liking in the settings.
Should you disable aim assist in PUBG Mobile?
No, as aim assist is useful in mobile and control FPS titles. It helps you target enemies and track them. It has some drawbacks, but it’s worth continuing unless you want to train your aim manually.
Why do people turn their 6x scope into 3x in PUBG Mobile?

• Ease of use over shorter distances
