Get ready to sink your teeth into all the new shark content. This year’s Shark Week on Discovery Channel will take place starting July 7 and will feature 21 hours of content, including shows like 6000-pound shark, Alien sharks: Ghosts of Japan, and The Great White Serial Killer: Sea of Bloodamong many others.
This year’s host will be actor and former wrestler John Cena, replacing Jason Mamoa, who hosted in 2023.
“I usually do Shark Week from my couch, with lots of snacks, but this year I am beyond excited to host the week dedicated to the endlessly fascinating action heroes of the ocean,” Cena said in a statement. Press release“It’s a wild week of shocking new images, new discoveries and lots of teeth.”

Shark Week programming will take place from Sunday, July 7 to Saturday, July 13.
What time does Shark Week air?
Shark Week begins on July 7th with The Belly of the Beast: Bigger and Bloodier at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Monday through Thursday, Shark Week will premiere new shows from 8:00 p.m. ET/PT to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, with reruns at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The exceptions to this are Sunday, day one, with Shark invasion in Sydney Harbour On Friday and Saturday, there will be encores at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Time and 11 p.m.
