Two of the best teams in MLS will face off under the bright lights of South Florida on Saturday, June 1.
Inter Miami and St. Louis SC will meet at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Both teams are looking to get back to winning ways, with Inter Miami losing in midweek to Atlanta, while St. Louis has lost three in a row.
This weekend’s visitors had all week to prepare for this match, so we’ll see if the tired legs of Inter Miami’s veteran stars affect the outcome.

Minute 29: Inter Miami is also forced to go to the bench, as Federico Redondo replaces Benjamin Cremaschi. Not good at all for Redondo and for a player who just returned from a knee injury a couple of weeks ago.
Minute 27: Klauss on the other end almost gives St. Louis the lead again, but is deflected off a corner kick. Meanwhile, St. Louis City coach Bradley Carnell makes his first change of the night as Alm is unable to continue. Enter Hosei Kijima.
Minute 25: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! We’ve seen this before, right? Messi dribbles to the right, then dribbles to the left towards the center and that just opens up the field. Alba opens wide on the left and Messi finds him. Alba makes the perfect pass to the center, no one follows Messi and he perfectly places a shot that beats Burki and enters the net. The speed of play and the speed of thinking between those two are on another level. It’s a tied game, 1-1, at Chase Stadium.
Minute 22: Rasmus Alm falls after a challenge by grabbing his right knee and looks like he may have taken a big hit. He is receiving treatment and we will see if he can continue. He’s getting off the field under his own power, which is a good sign.
Minute 19: Great play Aviles! Another Inter Miami turnover leads to another breakaway opportunity for St. Louis, the pass Pompeu is slightly behind Klauss and Avilés slides in to clear the ball out of the box.
Minute 18: Messi finds Alba on the left wing and his early cross is stabbed towards goal by Taylor, but Burki saves.
Minute 15: GOAL ST. LUIS! WOW! Former US youth international Chris Durkin touches the top of the box on a quickly taken corner and absolutely smashes a curling shot past a stunned Drake Callender. Inter Miami fell asleep and Durkin made them pay. 1-0, Saint Louis.
Minute 14: Excellent tackle by Pompeu sets up St. Louis on the counterattack and ends up in the area at the feet of Vassilev but his shot in the area is blocked and deflected over the crossbar. Best chance of the night for St. Louis.
minute 11: Rojas tries to catch Burki off his line, but his 60-yard shot goes wide. It would have been a spectacular goal.
8th minute: Matías Rojas decides he’s going to smash one in from 35 yards, but St. Louis goalie Roman Burki takes care of it with ease.
7th minute: There are at least three times that St. Louis has attempted a quick transition with a long pass over the Inter Miami defense, trying to trap them. No luck yet.
3rd minute: It’s action from start to finish! Alba makes a great long cross to change the field to Wiegandt on the right wing, Messi receives the ball in the middle and shoots at a defender, but it is cleared by Klauss, who dribbles to Avilés from the halfway line to outside the area before shooting a curler deflected and over the goal.

15 minutes to start: Story to follow: This may be the last Inter Miami game we see Messi, Luis Suarez, Rojas and a few others in for the next 3-6 weeks due to international call-ups. The next FIFA international window begins next week and goes directly to the Copa América and Euro 2024.
45 minutes to start: Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino makes only one change from the team that lost 3-1 to Atlanta United. Matías Rojas comes in for Julián Gressel. Meanwhile, St. Louis City coach Bradley Carnell makes two changes from his last game. Anthony Markanich and Edward Lowen come in for Kyle Hiebert and Njabulo Blom.
