The Seahawks drafted Jalen Milroe in the third round in the 2025 NFL Draft hoping he could develop in the preseason. In order for that to happen, the Alabama product had to play a full game.

Milroe got that opportunity on Saturday against the Packers and saw mixed results. Maybe the most athletically gifted signal-caller in his draft class, Milroe showed off his arm strength, but also showed plenty of areas that need improvement.

Heading into the season, Milroe will be third on Seattle’s quarterback depth chart, giving him the opportunity to continue his growth in his rookie season. He’ll be slotted behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock when the Seahawks play the 49ers on Sept. 7.

Jalen Milroe highlights in Week 3 preseason game vs. Packers

Milroe’s day started out rough, as he lost a fumble on his second drive when the pocket collapsed around him.

Milroe responded later in the first half, however, ripping a throw over the middle of the field to former Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scandling.

The best throw of the night for Milroe came late in the fourth quarter, when he found tight end Cody White for his first NFL touchdown.

Seahawks QB depth chart

Position Player
1 Sam Darnold
2 Drew Lock
3 Jalen Milroe

Darnold will be the Seahawks starting quarterback for Week 1 after signing a three-year, $100.5 million contract with Seattle in the offseason. Lock was also inked in the offseason and has won the backup job for Seattle. That puts Milroe at third on the depth chart heading into the season.
