Jalen Ramsey has once again reset the cornerback market.
The Dolphins CB agreed to a record three-year extension worth $24.1 million per year on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adam SchefterThe deal came days before Miami’s Week 1 opener against Jacksonville.
Ramsey, 29, is entering his second season with the Dolphins after four seasons with the Rams and four with the Jaguars.

Ramsey and the Dolphins reportedly agreed to a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension, making Ramsey the highest-paid defensive player in league history for the second time in his career.
Ramsey had two years and $45.6 million remaining on his previous contract, by SpotracThe new contract therefore increases his salary. It also brings his career guaranteed earnings to just below $150 million.
Scheffer reported that after Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II agreed to a record-breaking four-year, $96 million contract, Ramsey and Miami once again sought to “set a new benchmark” with his new deal.
Ramsey’s deal puts him back on top of the league’s list of highest-paid cornerbacks.
