Travis Kelce may be a 34-year-old NFL veteran, but his older brother Jason Kelce is still there to teach Travis some key life lessons.

Among the sage advice Jason gave after Super Bowl 58? Travis probably should have found a better way to channel his frustration with the Chiefs’ offense in the first half than to take it out on Chiefs coach Andy Reid.

Jason talked about Reid being blown up and hit by his little brother, which remains one of the lasting images of Super Bowl 58 and became an instant meme, in “the brothers.”new heights” podcast.

“I think there are better ways to handle this, in retrospect,” said older brother Kelce, before adding, “You crossed the line.”

BENDER: Where does Patrick Mahomes rank among the greatest QBs of all time?

Many NFL fans shared that sentiment after seeing young Kelce nearly take down Reid with a blow to the chest.

That said, both the tight end and the coach downplayed the incident after the game.

“He keeps me young,” Reid said of Kelce when asked about the hit. “I tried that hip. He caught me off balance. Normally I’d give him a little, but he didn’t have any feet under me.”

Meanwhile, Kelce spoke highly of Reid and credited his coach for helping him manage his emotions during his career.

“He’s helped me a lot with that. Channeling that emotion and that passion,” Kelce said. “I owe my entire career to that guy. [and] being able to control how emotional I get a little bit. I just want it.”

DeCOURCY: Patrick Mahomes proves once again that a good Purdy quarterback isn’t enough to win the Super Bowl

Still, Travis apologized for the “low blow” on his podcast.

“Big Red, I’m sorry if I caught you with that cheap shot, honey,” Kelce said.

That should help resolve any lingering tensions between the two, although they’ve probably already been erased with Kansas City’s second straight Super Bowl victory.

And although Jason chastised his brother early in the show for his breakdown, he also took pity on him. He contextualized exactly what Travis was feeling during that moment and expressed that he understood where his brother was coming from.

“It was begging your head coach to let you go out and win this s—,” Jason said. “You and I know what that is.”
