San Francisco’s Chase Center will host the eighth edition of the Laver Cup on September 19-21, 2025.
Players selected for Team Europe and Team World will face off across nine single rubbers and three doubles matches to decide the overall winner.
At the 2024 edition in Berlin, Europe bounced back from consecutive losses to reclaim the trophy, with victories for Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz in the final two singles matches against Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz securing a late turnaround.
In the overall head-to-head, Europe boast a 5-2 lead. But will that change as we move beyond the Federer-Nadal era?
Laver Cup players for Team Europe and Team World
So far, two players for each team have been confirmed. Europe are coming out of the blocks strong with reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz and World No. 2 Alexander Zverev.
Zverev boasts a stunning record at the event, playing in all five European successes.
Leading the way for Team World are American duo Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton, each of whom took part in Berlin. Fritz might hope to gain some revenge after his decisive defeat to Alcaraz in the final rubber last time around.

Laver Cup 2025 team captains
From the inaugural edition in 2017 up to and including 2024, old rivals Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have served as the respective Europe and World team captains
It’s all change, though, for 2025. Yannick Noah, the last Frenchman to win the French Open when he thrilled Roland-Garros in 1983, will skipper Team Europe. Noah, who has enjoyed a successful career as a musician since hanging up his racquet, has also captained France to glory in the Davis Cup and Fed Cup.
There is certainly the need for a charismatic counterpoint to Noah, and Team World have that with U.S. tennis great Andre Agassi. The eight-time major winner completed the career Grand Slam when he followed in Noah’s footsteps by winning the French Open in 1999.
