Chelsea continue their quest for UEFA Conference League glory with a trip to Poland to face Legia Warszawa in the first leg of the quarterfinals.

Enzo Maresca’s side are heavy favourites to win Europe’s third-tier competition but must balance their campaign on this front with a knife-edge battle to secure Champions League qualification in the Premier League.

Legia are placed fifth in Poland’s Ekstraklasa and edged out Molde in the previous round of this competition.

There’s mixed news on the suspension front for Legia boss Goncalo Feio, who has Steve Kaputska available once again but is without Artur Jedrzejczyk and Jan Ziolkowski after their respective red and yellow cards against Molde.

Spanish forward Marc Gual and midfielder Bartosz Kapustka sat out the victory over Gornik Zabrze last time out and face late checks. Gabriel Kobylak and Jan Leszcynski are both sidelined..

Legia Warszawa predicted starting lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Tobiasz (GK) — Wszolek, Pankov, Kapuadi, Vinagre — Elitim, Augustyniak, Morishita — Chodyna, Shkurin, Luquinhas.

Injured: Gual (doubt), Kapustka (doubt), Kobylak, LeszcynskiSuspended: Jedrzejczyk, Ziolkowski

Maresca selected a team largely comprised of back-up players during Chelsea’s group-stage campaign but there has been a shift in emphasis for the business end of the tournament.

Cole PalmerNicolas JacksonPedro Neto and Marc Cucurella were all on the bench for Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Brentford and are among those likely to return to the starting lineup.

Wesley Fofana is out for the season with a hamstring injury. Romeo Lavia‘s ongoing fitness woes are not a relevant factor here as he is not in Chelsea’s Conference League squad.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Jorgensen (GK) — Gusto, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella — James, Caicedo, Enzo — Palmer, Jackson, Neto.

Injured: Fofana, LaviaSuspended: None.
