Tottenham Hotspur have invited American rap icon Lil Wayne after he surprised fans by revealing Spurs were his “favourite team” in the Premier League.
The unexpected announcement came during an Instagram Live session, where the 41-year-old rapper was watching a game while working in his studio.
During the live stream, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., said: “I’m in the studio, I’m here watching the Premier League. You already know my favorite team is Tottenham, I don’t know if you know this but that’s my favorite team.”

The revelation quickly caught the attention of Tottenham’s social media team, who wasted no time in responding. On X (formerly Twitter), the club posted: “Hey @LilTunechi when are you coming to a game?”
Lil Wayne, widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, is currently preparing for a U.S. tour, which kicks off August 31 in Las Vegas.
Although his schedule is busy until October, a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be on the horizon later in the year.
As for Tottenham, they started their Premier League campaign with a draw against Leicester City and a resounding 4-0 win against Everton.
Spurs now prepare to face Newcastle United on September 1st. That game may be a little early, but who knows, maybe Lil Wayne will make an appearance in a future game.
