The Tennessee Titans parted ways with quarterback Malik Willis earlier this week, sending the third-year quarterback to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2025 draft before Tuesday’s roster cuts deadline.
Titans general manager Ran Carthon ultimately did the right thing by sending Willis to a franchise where he could continue his NFL career.
Willis wasn’t the only Titans member to join the Packers this week, though. Undrafted free agent kicker Brayden Narveson, who was among the roster cuts, was claimed by the Packers.
Willis spoke to the Packers media for the first time on Wednesday, where he also learned of Narveson’s waiver claim.

Like Willis, Narveson is now in position to succeed. The 24-year-old is the only kicker on Green Bay’s 53-man roster, meaning the NC State product will begin the season as a starter.
Narveson certainly impressed throughout the exhibition schedule, including scoring three field goals in the Titans’ Week 2 preseason win over the Seattle Seahawks.
The Scottsdale native converted an incredible 59-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter and won the game for Tennessee on a 46-yard field goal as time expired.
Had Narveson stayed with the Titans, he likely would have been signed to the practice squad in favor of veteran Nick Folk. However, the young kicker will now have a chance to prove himself during the regular season.
