As training camp nears, the Miami Dolphins enter the 2025 season with more questions than answers.
The offseason has been an eventful one for Miami, with multiple players mentioned as potential trade candidates. Chief among them is cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who was excused from mandatory minicamp. However, the former All-Pro has yet to find a new home.
Tight end Jonnu Smith is also seeking a new deal after a career season, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill continues to cause drama with his on-again, off-again frustrations with the team.
All of this has made the Dolphins a franchise seemingly primed to trade away top-tier talent. On the flip side, they’ve also been pegged as one of the worst trade destinations in the NFL, according to Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay.
Rumors have surfaced that head coach Mike McDaniel “has rubbed a lot of veterans the wrong way,” per Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline. That would align with the narrative that players like Ramsey are looking to exit the organization.
This comes despite quarterback Tua Tagovailoa stating at Dolphins minicamp that there’s a “culture change” taking place within the team.

Tagovailoa himself has also become a central point of offseason conversation. Many are wondering whether he can stay healthy for an entire season—something the Dolphins may desperately need.
“While winning could quell most of these issues, victories won’t come easy if Tua Tagovailoa continues to miss time with injuries,” Kay wrote. “Having played just one full season since entering the league in 2020 and missing six games last year after signing a blockbuster extension, the quarterback may not be the long-term answer for this long-suffering squad.”
With a cloud larger than any looming storm over South Florida, it’s no surprise Kay ranked the Dolphins as the second-worst trade destination in the NFL, behind only the Cleveland Browns.
“Given the issues surrounding McDaniel, Tagovailoa’s health concerns and potential for a rebuild in the near future, players should do their best to avoid being dealt to the Dolphins,” Kay added.
